Fire destroys Gwinnett County Home

LAWRENCEVILLE — A fire ravaged a home in Lawrenceville early Saturday morning, fully engulfing the structure.

Gwinnett County firefighters responded this morning to a resident of the home’s report of a house fire on the 500 block of Shoal Circle, in Lawrenceville.

Four adult occupants and a dog escaped unharmed and there are no injuries reported. The house was fully involved when fire trucks arrived and flames were already shooting through the roof over much of the structure.

Firefighters flowed water from two handlines and the aerial ladder pipes to knock down the bulk of the flames from the exterior of the home before going inside.

The exact cause of the fire is undetermined and is under investigation. The structure and contents are a total loss. The American Red Cross has been contacted to provide assistance for the displaced family. An Engine and Ladder Truck are still at the scene dousing hot spots and working with the Fire Investigator to identify the cause.

The fire began just before 6 a.m. this morning and was brought unter control at 6:43.
