Georgia has 50,621 confirmed cases of coronavirus

The latest numbers released by the Georgia Department of Public Health show that Georgia has 50,621 confirmed cases of COVID-19 and 2,174 deaths from the virus.

There have been 8,646 coronavirus-related hospitalizations and 1,897 ICU admissions.

In terms of testing, 8.4% of those tested for COVID-19 have tested positive. A total of 605,082 tests have been conducted including 97,294 antibody tests.

Fulton County has the highest number of confirmed cases at 4,790. Gwinnett County follows with 4,372. Fulton has had 250 deaths and Gwinnett has had 136.

According to the Department of Public Health, 4,848 health care workers have tested positive for the virus.

Of Georgia’s 2,174 deaths, 863 have been over age 80. People aged 70 to 79 make up the next largest age group for COVID-19 deaths at 588.
