Georgia passed the 20,000 mark for confirmed cases of coronavirus Tuesday night according to numbers released by the Georgia Department of Public Health.
As of Tuesday night, Georgia had 20,166 confirmed cases of coronavirus and 818 people statewide had died from the illness.
Five of Georgia’s counties have seen more than 1,000 cases and eight counties have seen more than 20 people die.
As of tonight, Dougherty County — which is a hotspot for COVID-19 — now has more than 100 deaths from the virus with 103 deaths total.
