Georgia man goes missing on Cherokee County trail

UPDATE: The Cherokee County Sheriff’s Dept. says Dalton Phillips was found safe Oct. 29. The original story is below.


Police in Cherokee County are searching for a man who has been missing since last week after he ventured out on Cowart Mount Trail Oct. 23.

The missing man is 25-year-old Dalton Phillips.

According to the Cherokee County Sheriff’s Dept., Dalton is described as being
Dalton is described as being 6’ tall, 175 pounds.

He was last seen wearing blue jeans, leather boots, a black and tan sweatshirt, and was carrying two backpacks. He was last seen in the area of Cowart Mount Trail on at about 2 p.m. Wednesday.

According to the Sheriff’s Dept., Dalton left the area on foot.

He has been entered into GCIC as a missing person. If you see him, call 911 or 678-493-4080. The case number is 19-121486.
