It won’t be the return of Snowpocalypse, but winter weather is expected in parts of north Georgia this weekend, with rain and flooding throughout the rest of the state.
Below are live updates on the storm’s progress, closures and cancelations:
The wintry weather is part of a large storm system that is sweeping the South. Snow is expected to start Saturday evening in the Northeast Georgia Mountains with ice and freezing rain extending into Gwinnett County.
The rest of the state can expect heavy rain and possible flooding as the storm moves through.
A flood watch is in effect for north and central Georgia through Sunday evening.
Check back throughout the weekend for more updates on the winter weather as it develops.
