Fulton County Commissioner Liz Hausmann meets with Donald Trump about job creation

Fulton County Commissioner Liz Hausmann joined President Donald J. Trump and Ivanka Trump with leaders from around the nation at the White House for a discussion the “Pledge to America’s Workers,” Oct. 31.

Hausmann was the only attendee from Georgia as the group explored opportunities to align private industry and workforce development programs to more efficiently match workers with jobs in the market place.

“I was pleased to learn more about opportunities we can leverage training programs offered in the private sector that could benefit Fulton County residents and workers across Georgia,” said Commissioner Hausmann. “We are blessed with both talent and opportunity In Fulton County, and this program more efficiently aligns the two.”

In July, President Trump launched the Pledge to American Workers and created the National Council for the American Worker to create a national strategy to ensure that students and workers have the appropriate training and education to compete in today’s economy.

Since that time a number of major U.S. companies have a pledged to provide 6 million training opportunities over the next five years. Georgia companies in the Metro Atlanta Region participating in the program include UPS, Home Depot and Lockheed Martin.
