Bibb County residents can trade in their parking tickets for toys and canned goods

If you live in Bibb County, you can erase your parking tickets by helping others this holiday season.

PARK Macon-Bibb announced that it will host two unique programs during the months of November and December to benefit the local community.  The Food for Fines program will run from Nov. 1 through Nov. 30. The Toys for Tickets program will run from Dec. 1 to Dec. 21.

The two programs offer a way for citizens to pay their citations by helping to provide a hand to those in need.

“We are very excited about this opportunity to give back to our community,” said Benjamin Steffen, Territory Manager for the PARK Macon-Bibb program.

Food for Fines Canned Food Drive

Citizens can bring in 10 canned food items per citation, including any past due citations. The program requests 14 ounces of canned vegetables. Expired or damaged items will not be accepted. All items will be donated to Daybreak, a ministry sponsored by the DePaul group that specializes in helping people transition from challenging situations to stability. They provide on-site services such as shower and grooming facilities, breakfast, laundry, telephone and Internet, a health clinic, tutoring and assistance with résumés.

Toys for Tickets Drive

Citizens can bring two or more new toys still in original packaging with a value of $5.00 or greater for each citation, including any past due citations.  Fast food prizes or toys will not be accepted. Family Advancement Ministries will be the program’s partner for toys for tickets. The ministry specializes in working with families with young children and offer case-by-case assistance including financial planning and management.

PARK Macon-Bibb reserves the right to revoke a customer’s participation program at any time.
