51-year-old pleads guilty to offering to pay 14-year-old boy $100 for sex

A Macon man pleaded guilty Wednesday to child molestation stemming from an encounter with a 14-year-old boy when he offered the boy money for sex.

Timothy Bernard Revis, 51, pleaded guilty during a hearing in Bibb County Superior Court. He was sentenced to serve 20 years, 10 of them in prison. Revis also must abide by sex offender terms of probation after his release and register as a sex offender for life.

According to prosecutor Che’ferre Young, prosecutors had evidence showing that the then-14-year-old boy told Bibb County deputies he was walking near the Lucky Food Mart on Second Street in July of 2017, when an older man in a gray car approached him. The man asked sexual questions that made the boy uncomfortable and offered him $100 for sex. The boy refused. He later told deputies that the man’s genitals were visible during the encounter.

The boy, who had been recording the conversation, took a video of the tag number for the car and turned over his recording to deputies. Law enforcement later pulled over the car and identified the driver as Revis.

Speaking after the plea, District Attorney David Cooke said, “Mr. Revis thought he could pay a child $100 for sex and go home. Instead, he’s paying a heavy price for the next decade.”
