Macon woman pleads guilty in molestation of preteen girl

A Macon woman was sentenced to 12 years in prison Thursday after she pleaded guilty her part in the 2015 molestation of a preteen girl.

After her release from prison, 36-year-old Latalia Santoria Hutchings must also serve eight years on probation with sex offender conditions. She also must register as a sex offender. Hutchings entered her plea during a hearing in Bibb County Superior Court.

According to a news release from the Macon Judicial Circuit District Attorney’s Office, the preteen girl, who was 11 or 12 years old at the time was forced to engage in sex acts with Hutchings’ boyfriend while Hutchings watched and touched herself. In making a plea offer, prosecutors considered Hutchings’ cooperation with authorities after the incident was reported.

A case still is pending against Hutchings’ boyfriend, 25-year-old Quantez Dixon, who is charged with aggravated child molestation and two counts of child molestation.

Speaking after the hearing, Macon Judicial Circuit District Attorney David Cooke said, “Every child should know that they can count on a trusted adult to tell them what to do when a man asks them to do something that just feels wrong. Ms. Hutchings betrayed this young girl and instead used her for her own gratification. She deserves every day of this sentence.”
