Dunwoody police search for suspect in armed robbery

The Dunwoody Police Department is investigating a report of an Armed Robbery that occurred in the area of Withmere Way and Withmere Lane June 15.

According to the victim in the case, a male suspect got out of a gold older model van and grabbed her near the intersection. The victim said the suspect then demanded she hand over her money and threatened to cut her with a knife if she did not comply. The victim was not injured during the incident.

The victim described the suspect as a dark-skinned black male, 16 to 18 years old, about 5’08” to 5’09” tall, weighing 170 to 180 pounds, wearing gray pants, no shirt, and black Nike sandals. According to Dunwoody police, the suspect was further described as having a short mohawk style haircut and an approximately one-inch scar on his jawline. The suspect was last seen leaving the area in an unknown model gold van with what was described as “unusually loud exhaust.”
