Early morning hit-and-run kills 46-year-old pedestrian

An early morning hit-and-run accident took the life of a 46-year-old woman Monday. The victim has been identified as Teresa Reynolds.

According to police, Reynolds was struck and killed at about 12:30 a.m. Monday on Vineville Ave. near Forest Ave. in Macon. Police believe Reynolds was already laying in the road with a black trash bag containing her belongings beside her before she was struck. Police say they suspect the driver was not aware they hit a person.

The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office is actively seeking more information on the case and urges the driver to come forward. In a news release, the sheriff’s office made the following plea to that driver:

“It is very possible you assumed what you hit was debris in the roadway.  We think you swerved in attempts to avoid what you perceived in the road.  The Sheriff’s Office is pleading with you to come forward so that you may clear your conscience.”
